Linux on NUMA-Q issues - hardware requirements
- The original Sting quads (Pentium Pro 180s) don't seem to work. I can't
see any good reason why not, but they don't at the moment. They work fine
as single quad machines.
- You need to add a PCI VGA card (nothing special), and a keyboard (standard
PS2) to the boot quad. This will probably invalidate your warranty. There is
apparently an offical NT conversion kit that is basically this - talk to your
local service centre. Plug a monitor into the VGA card, or it won't do you
much good.
- Remember that only your PCI buses in the first quad will work at the
moment
- Drivers that use port I/O (inb/outb) will only work by default to devices
in the first quad. I have patches for inb_quad, outb_quad, but you'd need to
hack the driver slightly.
